WCCH Welcomes Dr. Matthew Aney


Wytheville, Virginia – Wythe County Community Hospital is pleased to announce Dr. Matthew Aney as the newest member to the medical staff.

Dr Aney has joined Wythe-Bland Pediatrics located at 590 West Ridge Road, Suite J.  in Wytheville.  Dr. Aney is a board certified pediatrician who has been in practice since 1992.  He has a BA degree in psychology from Harvard University, MD degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, and Pediatric internship and residency from University of California at Irvine.

He has special interests in lactation, sports medicine, child psychology, and parenting. As a pediatrician and father, he is dedicated to the health and well-being of children and committed to the prevention and treatment of pediatric problems. Treating the whole person – body, mind, and soul has been his goal. He states, “Observing the development of children is a joy, viewing it as God’s gift in action.”

He values the personal relationships he has with his patients and their families, and considers it rewarding to see his patients and their families grow and develop over the years. He married his wife, Tina, in 1990 and they have two children who are attending college.
