The Wythe County Community Hospital Emergency Department earned high marks in patient satisfaction this year. Eighty percent of Emergency Department patients scored the hospital a nine or 10 - on a scale of zero to 10, with 10 being the highest level of satisfaction.
“Knowing that we are routinely providing a level of care and service to our patient’s that is so highly perceived is rewarding and motivating,” said Chad Melton, chief executive officer (CEO) of Wythe County Community Hospital (WCCH). “This type of feedback is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.”
The survey was conducted by Health Stream, a national company that monitors emergency department excellence. Of the 691 hospitals surveyed through Health Stream, WCCH’s high score landed the hospital in the 98th percentile.
“These surveys provide critical feedback to our hospital emergency departments,” said Roxana Pool, chief nursing officer for LifePoint Health. “They provide important insights as to what emergency department staff can do to improve the overall patient experience. Wythe County’s high satisfaction score indicates that the emergency department team listens to its patients and responds by implementing strategies to continually improve patient care and service.”
