Wythe County Community Hospital Welcomes Orthopedic Surgeon Christopher Palmer, MD to Medical Staff

July 3, 2018

Wythe County Community Hospital welcomes Christopher Palmer, MD to the medical staff.  Dr. Palmer is an orthopedic surgeon at Bone & Joint Center – Wythe Physician Practices located at 1995 West Ridge Road, Wytheville. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery.

Palmer is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy-Colorado Springs, CO where he earned his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL and his fellowship in sports medicine was completed at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic. Dr. Palmer is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Palmer specializes in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. He sees patients for joint replacements for work-related injuries, and hand and upper extremity surgeries, among other general orthopedic conditions, including pediatric patients. He also specializes in sports medicine-the practice of examining and restoring musculoskeletal structures in athletes through medical, rehabilitative, or surgical means. He helps youth, high school, collegiate, professional and recreational athletes recover from their sports-related injuries and conditions.

Dr. Palmer enjoys that orthopedics allows him to see the transformation of patients suffering from painful, arthritic or injured bones and joints return to their normal activities. His goal is to provide the most conservative method of treatment to get patients back to the level of activity they desire. When not in the clinic, Dr. Palmer enjoys being active with his family either hunting, fishing, golfing or watching sports.

WCCH welcomes Dr. Palmer and his family to  Wytheville.
