Advanced Directives - This one hour session gives participants information on Consent for Life Support, Living Wills and Durable Power of Attorney. There is no charge for this informative program.


Diabetic Education
This program is designed to give information on the diabetes process, different types of diabetes, differences between high and low blood sugar, symptoms, and complications of the disease. This program will be presented by WCCH's Patient Educator. For individual diabetic teaching, register online or call 228-0371.


Early Cardiac Care
HeartNet of the Virginia's presents this program by instructors of WCCH. The program emphasizes early intervention at the onset of chest discomfort. It is designed to educate the public on early warning signs of heart disease and the importance of quick/early intervention at the onset of chest discomfort. There is no charge for this one hour program. Call (276) 228-0473.


Health Screens
Wythe County Community Hospital offers a variety of health fairs and screening programs several times throughout the yeat at various locations in the community. If your organization, business or industry is interested in conducting an onsite health screening, please call (276) 228-0476.


Care Givers Support Group
Service of Circle Home Care and led by Social Worker, this group provides time away from the patient, time when one can relax, enjoy refreshments and good conversation with others who share the same needs and concerns. Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 PM in Wythe-Bland Conference Room. Free of charge. For more information, contact Circle Home Care 228-2051.


Infectious Diseases
Topics such as AIDS, Hepatitis, or Blood Borne Pathogens can be tailored to fit your educational needs. No cost for this one hour session.


Preparation for Parenthood
Five week course for expectant parents. Classes include discussion of labor, delivery, medications, post partum, safety, CPR, and breast feeding. Register online under events/programs. Sponsored by the Women's Center of Wythe County Community Hospital.


Safe Sitter
One-day course taught by certified instructors who will teach young people ages 11-13 how to be safe baby-sitters through hands-on practice and role playing. They learn safety and security precautions, information on child development and age-appropriate activities. Safe Sitter is a medically oriented instructional program, designed to reduce the number of accidental deaths among children, especially while under a baby-sitter's care. Cost is $25 per student. WCCH Senior Club
This club is for people over 55 who want to stay healthy, active and informed through seminars, programs and social events. Meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month. A lifetime membership fee of $15 or $25 per couple entitles members to educational events, health screenings, consultation with pharmacists and pharmacy discounts, diet counseling, free blood pressure checks and assistance in understanding and filing your insurance.
