Chief Executive Officer
Joseph Wilkins is a skilled healthcare leader who has served in a VP and COO position as well as experience as an ethics and compliance officer. He is instrumental in helping the hospital drive significant growth across key service lines and increase operational efficiencies.
An involved member of the communities in which we serve, Wilkins serves on the boards of directors for the United Way of Southern West Virginia and The Wythe-Bland Foundation. He is involved in Rotary and Boy Scouts of America.
He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and a member of the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Foundation Board of Directors.
John D. White
Chief Financial Officer
John White has been in working in healthcare finance for the past 30 years. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Texas State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
He started his career with HealthTrust, Inc. He went on to work for HCA as Controller and then CFO for 12 years at facilities in Texas, Virginia, and Florida. He then worked for Community Health Systems as the CFO in Alabama for 4 years. John moved his family to Wytheville in 2006. He has been working at Wythe County Community Hospital as the facility Chief Financial Officer and Ethics and Compliance Officer for 14 years.
John is a member of All Nations Church of God Wytheville, a member and Past President of Wytheville Morning Rotary Club, member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Chief Nursing Officer
Grant Barraclough holds a master’s degree in Nursing Administration as well as a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Western Governors University. He also received his Associates of Nursing from Utah State University-Eastern and is a certified professional in patient safety (CPPS).
He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the 2013 Emerging Nurse Leader Award given by the Utah Organization of Nurse Leaders, also in 2013 he was awarded the Castleview Hospital Mercy Award.
Human Resources Director
Kristie Walker holds a Master’s in Public Health Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC and a Regents Bachelor of Arts in Business from Bluefield State College, Bluefield, WV.
She holds certifications from the Society of Professional Human Resources in Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR), she is a graduate of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Leadership New River Valley, graduate of the College Business Management Institute and hold past certifications as Certified Affirmative Action Officer – American Association of Affirmative Action Officers and Certified Corporate Crisis Intervention
