WCCH Names Chief Nursing Officer

Wythe County Community Hospital announced that Grant Barraclough has been named Chief Nursing Officer of Wythe County Community Hospital, effective August 19, 2019. Barraclough has been at Castleview Hospital since 2017, as the Chief Nursing Officer. He began his career at Castleview Hospital in 2006 working in Physical Therapy, Med Surg, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Services, and Emergency Department.

“We are so excited to have Grant step into this important leadership role,” said Joseph Wilkins, chief executive officer (CEO) of Wythe County Community Hospital. “I know that he will help us further advance our mission of Making Communities Healthier.”

Barraclough engages in the community in which he lives. He has been the assistant and head coach of USU Eastern women’s volleyball program from 1999-2011. Barraclough has also served as a scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He has also been a volunteer serving on the Utah State Trauma System Advisory Council.

Barraclough holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Western Governors University. He also received his Associates of Nursing from Utah State University-Eastern and is a certified professional in patient safety (CPPS). He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the 2013 Emerging Nurse Leader Award given by the Utah Organization of Nurse Leaders, Also in 2013 he was awarded the Castleview Hospital Mercy Award.
