iWythe County Community Hospital offers direct access testing and self referral laboratory services to our community.
LABS WYTHE US is available from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. daily. No appointment is needed.
Direct access testing allows patients to order tests that that they wish to monitor. This laboratory service is convenient, cost-effective and allows you to make more decisions about your own health care. We do not require a physician order or bill insurance so there are no worries about coverage or frequency limits.
We are conveniently located on the second floor of the hospital near the emergency entrance. Please register with a patient access representative. They will register you for the test that you need and assist with payment options.
The same laboratory professionals that provide services to our hospital inpatients, emergency department and physician offices will perform your direct access testing. Our laboratory is accredited by the Joint Commission to perform laboratory testing. You may order the tests you desire and have the testing performed whenever it is convenient for you.
You do not have to worry about insurance coverage. Payment is expected at the time of registration for your lab work.
Remember that laboratory test procedures are not designed to diagnose illness. They are a tool used to monitor health and allow patients to make health decisions.
The results of your tests can be picked up at the hospital, mailed, faxed or accessed via our patient portal.
You will be responsible for getting your test results to your physician.
