Dr. Brad Terry Receives 2016 Physician Of The Year Award

In 2006, employees of Wythe County Community Hospital created the Physician of the Year Award to honor members of the medical staff for their hard work and dedication.  Annually in the fall, hospital employees nominate physicians who exemplify the hospital’s five core values:  Delivering High Quality Patient Care, Supporting our Physicians, Creating an Excellent Workplace for Employees, Providing Community Value, and Ensuring Fiscal Responsibility.  The Rewards & Recognition Committee determine solicited nominees and select the recipient of this award.

This year’s recipient is Dr. J. Bradley Terry.  Dr. Terry graduated from Medical College of Virginia. He completed his residency at Mountain Area Health Education, Asheville, North Carolina in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  And He completed his internship in family medicine at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Dr. Terry is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Brad Terry brings 25 years of experience to our community and he is an excellent addition to our hospital team. Wythe County Community Hospital welcomes over 300 babies into the world every year providing complete childbirth services for expecting parents, and Dr. Terry’s expertise is important as WCCH continues to meet our region’s evolving healthcare needs and make our community healthier.

“WCCH has so many deserving physicians for this award, so I’m sure it was hard for the Reward and Recognition Committee to narrow down the finalist,” said Chad Melton, Chief Executive Officer at Wythe County Community Hospital. “Our medical staff is the key to our success and one person who has stood out over the past year is Dr. Terry. We are very fortunate to have such a compassionate, high quality, and well respected physician on our medical staff. Congratulations to Dr. Terry for an outstanding year!”

Along with his busy work schedule, Dr. Terry has served on the OB sub-committee and volunteers his time for many community events.

Dr. Terry is described by WCCH staff as, “a very caring, professional and respectful physician.   He displays energy among his colleagues and listens to the opinions of others.  We are blessed to have such a talented physician serving the needs of our community.”
