Wythe County Community Hospital is proud to announce its Infection Preventionist, Erica Bobbitt, BSN, RN, CIC recently passed the Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) board exam.
The CIC credential identifies healthcare professionals who have demonstrated mastery in knowledge of infection prevention and control by sitting for and passing the certification exam. This credential signifies a commitment to best practices in infection prevention and control, ultimately leading to improved patient care. Certification also signals to employers and colleagues the candidate’s dedication to personal growth.
Bobbit spent months intensely studying and preparing for the CIC exam. "I pursued this certification to have a more solid foundation and understanding of Infection Control and Epidemiology. I feel very proud to be a part of the WCCH family, and that I am one of 9,525 people worldwide that hold this certification. It is a privilege to be able to bring this knowledge to benefit our hospital and community," said Bobbit.
Bobbitt has been with Wythe County Community Hospital since February 2020. She received her RN degree from Surry Community College and her BSN through Capella University.
